How do I stay Connected in Outlook instead of starting Offline?

Every time I start my laptop, Office comes up Offline in the lower-right
corner. I always have to right-click, then deselect Work Offline. How do I
make this fix permanent?

After furious head scratching, Greg Mc asked:

Work Offline is selected in the File menu. I go to File, then unclick Work
Offline. I exit Outlook, come back in, and the check mark reappears. I run
through this cycle two or three times to no avail.
