MS Front Page 2002
Is there a way to stop Front Page from automatically going to the last web
server when you hit publish web ?

i.e.. I have a web server site that I am having difficulty publishing to,
When I hit File, Publish Web it automatically goes there and I have to wait
for it to time out before I can change it to the alternate site.

Use File Menu | Publish Web, the button will always remember the last good
publish location.

Thanks, yes but every I wish to retry the location that I have difficulty
with, it remembers that as well and it takes 5 minutes to time out. no way
to stop that ?

In general is best to always using the File Menu | Publish Web command,
where you select prior published site or enter a new location.

Hi Thomas - Thanks just really looking for a way around that, basically when
I connect to website on Shaw it works. When I unsuccessfully try to connect
to tripod it either hangs or takes forever to time out.
If it hangs then I have I have to reboot and go through the whole thing
again. and FrontPage remembers the failed tripod publish..so just trying to
by pass the automatic "last web server" thing.

Actually since these topics are converging, I am going to include this in my
reply under "Front Page 2002 Publishing on Tripod errors (
so that you don't have to do
double duty. These were two trains of thought but seem to identical now.

Thanks again.
