How do I stop Office 2003 Imaging window opening for a Word docum.

In Office 2003, when opening a Word document I get the Imaging window which
says the doc is not a MODI file - so unable to open.
In error I have ticked the box to open all TIFF files with MODI though am
unable to find how to reverse this. I do not know if this tick has caused my
opening problem.
Neither repairing nor completing reloading Office has helped.
I need to b e ablke to open Word doics without the MODI window appearing.
