How do I stop restored window from maximizing when it touches top of desktop?

Using Word 2007 in Windows 7, when I drag a restored window to the top
of the desktop it automatically maximizes. How can I avoid this?

Ah yes another MS plague upon their house...
But at least is is configurable...

Ease of Access Centre
Make Mouse Easier to use
Tick "Prevent Windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the
edge of the screen."
