how do i stop windows installer

I am out of town and the windows installer keeps trying to install an update
but needs the office pro 2003 cd since it is missing a file SKY0011.cab I
have to keep trying to cancel it out numerous times before it stops. What
can I do to temporarily stop it until I get back home to where the CD resides.

You are kidding with that answer. That will not do anything for the OP's issue at all

You can use the below Tool but I do not suggest it since you do not have your Office installation CD with you. Read the warning. It might disable one or more Office programs.

Thanks for your response. I will probably just wait until I get back home
this weekend and just deal with it constantly trying to install.

I downloaded the windows cleaner and removed the program that was causing the
windows installer to start, It works great. Thanks Peter Foldes

Every time I start Word, the installer pops up and I have to keep hitting
Cancel before my document opens. This started to occur after I downloaded a
trial version of Office Pro 07. Please help.

Thanks. I tried this. I get Run-time error '-2147024882 (8007000e)'
System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified Error.

What can I do? It's extremely annoying and definitely delays the start up
for Word.

Try a Detect and Repair and then try the Tool again

I already tried this and it didn't work.

I posted in the other thread that when I install the 03 Office, I don't get
the pop up. But, I also purchased the 07 Office and after I install the 07
Office and open Words, the window's installer pop up starts.
