How do I suppress blank lines in a Mail Merge?

susie

I am using Word 2003 to create letters using a database in Excel 2003, I have
numerous IF fields in the body of the main document. How do I suppress the
fields in the merged documents if they are blank? Have tried the Mail Merge
Helper, etc.
Thanks for any tips you can share.

Open Word, click Help, Look up "mail-merge",

Click on "Troubleshoot mail merge"

Click on "My merged document has blank lines."

Follow instructions

Thanks, that helped somewhat. When more than 1 field is blank, though, I
still get spaces...

Hi Susie,

You may want to use the link below to post your question directly to the MS Word Mailmerge newsgroup. When posting there include
the version of Word you're using, the type of merge and what you'd like to achieve vs what you're seeing.
