How do I synchronize text and drawings when scaling?

RE: Microsoft Visio Professional 2002 SR-1 (10.0.2514)

Hello,

I am trying to scale some hardware diagrams, but the text
will not scale with the drawing.

A co-worker told me to copy and paste the drawing into
word and then paste it back into Visio - and then you would be able to scale
both the drawing and the text.

Is there an option that is not checked off in Visio?

It would be quite time-consuming to have to copy and paste back and forth,
just to scale some drawings.

Can anyone recommend a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

One way to do it is:

Choose the text block tool and click on the shape that contains the text.
This will point to the text block for the text.
Click on Windows\Show Shapesheet
In the Font size cell, type in a formula like ="width/15" where width is the
width of the shape. When the width of the shape is changed, the font size
will adjust accordingly.

Note: For this method, changing the height will not affect the size of the
shape's text.
