how do i texture an autoshape

i have placed an autoshape into a powerpoint(the square or the oval on the
bottom format bar of powerpoint) and for my assignment i have to texture it
and i cannot find out how to do it in my book

Right click on the autoshape, select Format AutoShape.
Click on the Color drop down bar, select Fill Effects.
Click on the Texture tab, and select the texture you want. Or if you are
inserting your own picture as a texture (where the picture will repeat
itself) , select "Other Texture".
Click OK.
