How do I try Office 2007 if I live outside the US?

1) It seems the Online trial or demos of the new Office 2007 packs are for
Americans ONLY - is this correct? If not, how do I do so?

2) When I try to change my location on the Office Online Home Page to
Singapore, it is not listed! It exists as a country - any suggestions on how
to get past this?

Hi Brian,

The MS Office 2007 trial editions are available from a number of locations other than the U.S. (you can change the location for
Office localized webpages from the top left of the pages on http://office.microsoft.com ). Unfortunately, while there is Microsoft
Singapore localized site (http://microsoft.com/singapore) there isn't yet a localized Office site for Singapore at the present time,
but they are working on expanding to other areas (no time frame known at present though).

Are you not able to download the trial through http://trymicrosoftoffice.com or to use the online test drive through
http://office.microsoft.com/suites ?

Tried that till I got to the point where I was constantly told my connection
didn't pass muster! Strange Anyway, I have finally got it all using my mother
in law's address in the UK - Thanks.
However, I cannot load the Outlook part of the Office for a Small Business
(has 2 files to download) - says I must load the first part, which is done
and works a treat. Tried a few times and gave up.Tsk.

Hi Brian,

In order to use the 2007 version of Outlook in the trial edition you'll need to first turn off the Outlook 2003 version, by setting
it to 'not available' in the Microsoft Office 2003 listing in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel.

If you also have the Office 2003 Outlook Business Contact Manager you'll need to uninstall that separate listing in Add/remove
programs. (Outlook use is limited to a single version).

Once you've done that part, restart the PC and use the Microsoft Office 2007 listing in Add/Remove Programs to set Outlook 2007 to
'Run from my PC' state. Then, the Outlook Business Contact Manager (the part on CD image #2) can also be installed (it's looking to
find Outlook 2007 before it installs). >>

Hi Bob

Thanks very much for that - I know I would never have got past the issues
alone. As I use my Outlook daily, I am not keen on disabling it, so I guess I
will wait until I buy the full version. I was keen on seeing what value the
Contact Manager brought (I don't have the 2003 version)

Thanks again.
Brian

Hi Brian,

You're not really disabling Outlook, rather turning off the 2003 version to be able to use the 2007 version, but you might also want
to try the Outlook 2007 version through the online test drive to see how you like it first via
http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/preoducts/HA101687261033.aspx

or use one of the online training/demo guides at http://office.microsoft.com/training
