How do I turn off Outlook file sync

Outlook id sync files keeps appearing, shuts down my outlook interface, slows
activity and finally ends. I want to shut this feature off. How?

syncing is when OL polls for mail, check the polling interval, reset it for
not less than 10 minutes

Thanks!!! but how do I reset the interval? Is that the check for new mail or
elsewhere? Guide me please.
