How do I turn off stencils at startup in Visio 2003?

M

Matt Gilbert

When I start Visio 2003 the stencils/shapes always open up and display as
either a smaller vertical docked window to the left of the drawing, or they
open up as a full page behind the drawing. This is very annoying, and I need
to be able to turn this off. I am unable to find the setting to do this.
Please Help!

Instead of clicking on the 'x' to close the Shapes window, try right
clicking on the title (orange area) and choose Close All Stencils. You will
probably still get the empty Shapes window appearing on open. Sorry, that
was the intended design.
