How do I turn off the fade delay for menu display?

Frances

When I click on or hover over a menu item, the menu (and, then the child
menu) fades into view (from transparent to opaque). It is annoying as all get
out. I have to wait what seems like forever before I can select the option I
want. If what I want to do is several levels down it's especially annoying.
Is there any way to turn that off such that the menu displays upon click or
hover (with NO wait)? Can I make the change for all Office products at the
same time? Or do I need to make the change one application at a time? Thanks!

menu Tools -> Customize
menu animations is at the bottom

I bet nobody notices stuff like that. What a waste of somebody's time
and effort.
