How do I turn on color banding to locate the active cell in Excel?

Jules

I clicked my mouse and color banding started on a file. I don't know how to
turn it off and it would be very useful to use on other spreadsheets if I
could figure out how I turned it on in the first place. Any ideas?

Do you mean that you clicked on one cell then moved to click on another cell
and all cells in the range are selected?

If so, hit the F8 key to turn off EXTENDED range selection.

If not, describe what you mean by "color banding"
