How do I type Australia in a drop down list of countries?

newuser5095

I am a new computer user and would like to know how to type "Australia" in a
drop down list of countries where it does not appear. Thanks.

Exactly where (and in what program and what operating system) do you
need to type "Australia"?
I don't recall any program where I had to type it.

If you are talking about a program from the Office "suite" you'll have
to tell us which one. Quite possibly you would have to edit a VBA macro.

If Australia does not appear in the pre-configured dropdown list of
countries, then your software is not licensed to be used in Australia.

What piece of software is it and who is the provider?

A drop down list could be almost anything Milly. How do you know
newuser5095 is trying to illegally use software where it is not licensed,
instead of innocently looking up a phone number or something like that?

Sorry Milly, things like "not licensed to be used in Australia" bring
out the worst in many people, including me, and starts us looking for
hacks!

And you know that the OP's dropdown list is part of an installation
procedure how?
What piece of software is it and who is the provider?

And you're as much of an expert on non-Office software as you are at mind
reading?

Oh, yeah, I forgot why I plonked you months ago. Thanks for the reminder.

Who said anything about illegal?

I am specifically thinking about Microsoft Office Accounting Express where
it is only usable in the US and UK due to accounting rules.

Geez, people, lighten up. And think outside the box, okay?

So you use a crappy newsreader that can't maintain persistent
settings? Or you just don't know how to make persistent settings?

People who say "think outside the box" never do so. To address the OP's
question, if you have a drop-down list with pre-specified entries, and no
obvious button to create a new one, you will have to call the software
vendor and ask them why they didn't include "Australia". If Ms. Staples
answer addresses your question, great.
