How do I type mathematical equations in one note?

I am using microsft OneNote and would like to know how to type in
mathematical exponents for taking notes in my math class.

There is nothing built-in to handle equations. You can either draw them as
a picture (if you're on a Tablet PC) or create them using Office's Equation
Editor and then cut/paste from Word into ON.

I'll concede that these aren't timesavers while taking notes in a class...
