I have Outlook 2003. On an Excell spreadsheet attachment with a .xls I
clicked the popup box "don't show me this box again" and it doesn't. Neither
does it allow me to recieve the spreadsheet I need or any other excell spread
sheets. How do I fix this?

I have been to Slipstick and changed registry per their fix = Didn't fix!
I have been to Slovatek and downloaded their fix and .xls is not on their
fix list.
Short of telling Microsoft to go somewhere unpleasent is there something I'm
missing?

Unless you can tell us in exactly which dialogue you selected the "do not
show me this box again" option, we'd need a crystal ball and psychic powers
to help.

Brian, The issue comes from the "Opening Mail Attachment" Box.
Where it asks if you want to Open, Save or Cancil the attachment.
IMMEDIATLY BELOW IS A SMALL CHECKED BOX THAT SAYS " Always ask before
opening this type of file".I unchecked the small box thinking that since I
trusted the source I wouldn't have to go through the extra step each time I
opened the attachment. From that point on No Excell Spreadsheets have been
allowed through from any source. I get a Notepad message stating the
attachment has been blocked. I need the spreadsheets back.

This is a Windows setting, I believe. What version of Windows?

Brian, the Window's version is XP Professional . I hope this helps.

Open Control Panel's Folder Options applet (Start>Control Panel>APpearance
and Themes>Folder Options) and click the File Types tab. Locate the file
type of the extension and select it. Click Advanced. There should be a
checkbox labeled "Confirm open after downoad". Check it. Click OK, then OK
again. Close Control Panel.

Brian, This was not the solution! I did as instructed to the letter and I
still cannot recieve in Outlook an Excell spreadsheet. I can receive them in
Yahoo e-mail and I can open old copies of spreadsheets in Outlook dated prior
to checking the #@%##@ box. So my thought is that this is an Outlook problem
not a Windows problem. Thanks for your help and I would appreciate any
further assistance you might provide.
