How do I unlink subprojects to a master plan

When I click on the subprojects it brings up "my documents" and is searching
for a new file

Nixi1216,
First of all, If you are using Project 2003, I believe there was a bug
concerning linked projects and the ability to unlink them, so make sure
you have the latest update, SP2 installed.

If after checking/installing the update you still have a problem, then
what exactly do you mean by, "when I click on the subprojects..."?
