How do I unlock a locked Word document (MS Office trial)? This is the first
Word document that attempt to open and work on, after just downloading an
Office trial package.

try searching for hidden files starting with ~<filename of the document> and
delete them (they should be in the same directory>

(ah and be sure that your trial hasn't expired yet)
