How do I unlock a new document to type a report?

I just registered with Microsoft Online, but I can't type a document!
Do you have any suggestions?
Every time I try to begin typing a new document, the words wouldn't come on
the screen, and say that the document was locked.
Please Advise! This is in Microsoft Office Word.

Where did you get Word from? Is this a new PC and the trial version of
Office? If so you would need to Activate it, or if the trial has
expired, buy a copy of you want to continue using it. See Word, Help,
Activate Product...
