You have to check the page back end. If you are the only one maintaining the site there is not need
to use this function.

I do not know how to "check a page back in"- could you please point me in
the right direction? I am the only one maintaining tone site, and I am not
trying to check the page out. I am however working on a "live" page

Another Tom--Thanks

When I right click on files with a check mark at the far left, I am able to
check-in 2 of the 4 files.

But the other 2 inform me that "SERVER ERROR: Page index.htm is checked out
by LIBRARY/Chris." When I try the other option, UNDO CHECK OUT, I get the
same error message.
Thanks
Chris

Problem fixed- I simply Closed the website and then reopeened it. I was then
able to "check-in" the 2 files with check marks. Thanks...

Well, I spoke too soon. I have a situation. Somehow “Check a Web page in or
out (Source Control)†got turned on. I have been able to check in all pages
except 2. These pages initially have a LOCK Icon—and when I go to Tools->Site
Settings and attempt to turn off source control, I am asked for User name and
password. Under properties it shows that the file is checked out by
LIBRARY/Chris (that’s my computers name—and my login name).I am the only user
(and I have administrator privileges) on this computer—but it does not like
my name and password. So, how do I reset a new password. I went into User
Accounts and reset my password. But this does not help.

Now, in the time I have been typing this question, the Lock Icon has changed
to a check mark—but I am unable to check the page in because it reports I
have checked it out.

Help!!

Thanks

Chris

My work around has been to save the changes I have made to the page under a
different name (indexq.htm instead of index.htm), close FP, open Windows
Explorer, delete index.htm, and rename indexq.ht, to index.htm

Turn off document checkin then run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
- once released, turn document checkin back on

Thanks for your reply.

I gave up and restored a backup from a couple months ago. I host my own web
page using IIS on drive C. I restored the web page from a backup to Drive
D-and in IIS, removed, then turned on again FP extensions. I do not know
exactly what solved the problem-- but it is working now.

Thanks again for your response--perhaps your suggestion would also have
worked (files deleted now)
