How do i unlock document for use?

When i tried to type information or anything on a blank document, the
keyboard was locked. The message below said, "this modification is not
allowed because the document is locked". I went to all the help menus, but
still could not unlock word. Please advise.

Microsoft's Help system has landed you in the wrong newsgroup: this
one is for the database program Microsoft Access.

Please use the dropdown box (the one that says "Access" by default)
to select a more appropriate newsgroup.
