How do I unlock Microsoft Office?

I accidently locked a file in Microsoft Word. I opened the file from the
Net... now the whole program is locked. I cannot go in and write anything,
the keyboard is basically dead. Once i press a button at the bottom of the
page a not comes up saying " you cannot open this file because it is locked".
How do i unlock the file so i can be able to work in Microsoft Office again?
