How do I unlock modify?

Every time I log on to Word, I can't type in anything. Everytime I try to
type, it says that I can't modify because selection is locked. What's wrong?

Hi Sporty_geek,

Your problem description suggests the document has been locked for editing. You can change that via Tools|Protect Document.
