How do I unpin an item from the list?

In addition to Word 2007 refusing to save documents unless I change the name
I now have an old version pinned to the list and it refuses to unpin. Why is
this happening, and how can I correct it?
I am using Win7 Professional.

Pinned to WHAT list?
