How do I upgrade from Windows ME to either Windows 2000 or XP?

I wanted to download the trial version of the Microsoft Office Home Edition
but it says that I need either Windows 2000 or XP.

You format your ME and install Windows 2000, XP,2003 and then you can
install Office Home. ME does not support this install.
