How do I use Windows address book, (not outlook contact) in Word?

My working place upgraded the Office to the 2003 version recently, but
without the Outlook. We are forced to use Thunderbird as e-mail client. I
imported my backup Outlook .pst into Windows XP address book. But I can't use
or integrate it in Word. Is there any way to make it work?

Perhaps it needs OE to be selected in Internet Options as default ?
I know when using mail merge you can select the address book
