How do I view attached pictures in the preview pane?

In outlook express, when a jpg file containing a picture was attached to a
received email message (in the inbox, the picture was displayed as part of
the message - in the preview pane).----Heres the problem---:

Just upgraded to win XP, and installed office XP (2002) - and can't find
this feature in microsoft outlook...mui frustrated - help is greatly
appreciated.

Outlook has no such feature. It shows pictures in the preview pane only when
the sender embedded the picture inline in the message.
