How do I view pictures in a Word document?

I like to work in print layout and still my pictures and WordArt don't show
up in Word. It did when I was working with an earlier version, but I was
recently upgraded and am no longer able to view what I'm working with. It
prints ok, but I don't want to have to print every single change just to see
what it looks like.

Tools > options > view > uncheck 'picture placeholders'
