How do I view two programs on the same screen?

tired of toggling

I have to 'live' between an excel spreadsheet and a word document. Years ago,
there was a way to tile both programs vertically so you could just toggle
between them on the same screen. Is that still possible?

Yes.

If you are using Vista, right click on an empty space on the Taskbar and
select your choice.

In Any Windows version, right click in the taskbar and select the option to
tile vertically or horizontally.

Or you can change your window size to fit side by side and it will persist
between program sessions.
