I forgot to tell you that it is a Word 2003 document that I'm trying to
paste (using Word 2007) a signature at the bottom. I have limited things
I can do with the 2003 document. I can insert the picture of the signature
but how do I move it around? The anchor allows you to rotate the picture,
not to move it up and down.
If you insert the picture without a text box the picture is tied to the
typing cursor position when you did the insert. If you place the cursor
exactly where you want the image to begin then insert the image you should
have the image exactly where you need it. It can be resized using the
corner handles. Remember that any text below or to the right of the cursor
will be moved down and to the right as needed to place the image.
If you create a text box and then with the cursor inside the text box, click
Insert Image the image will be placed inside the text box. You can then
right click on the text box border, click on Format Text box and then on
Layout tab, Advanced and uncheck the Move object with text checkbox, Click
OK then on the Layout tab click on one of the "dog" shapes to change how the
text is displayed. If you want to ensure that text can never overlap the
image signature click In line with text. Next click the Colors and Lines
tab and click Line, Color box and select No Line then click OK.
I regularly sign letters the first way and it is definitely the easiest way
to do it like this:
<tab><tab><tab><tab><tab><tab>Sincerely,
<tab><tab><tab><tab><tab><tab>(Insert Image from file)
<tab><tab><tab><tab><tab><tab>John Q. Citizen
<tab><tab><tab><tab><tab><tab>President of the World, etc.
My business letterhead is set with my Letterhead Header and the signature
already on the template that I obtain by clicking File, New...
Hope this helps, let us know.
