how do you change a file format from bitmap to jpeg

Santa's Little Helper

need to include a picture for an e-mail message from Santa, but the photo got
transferred from my phone in bitmap format. It needs to be on JPEG, PNG or
GIF format.

HELP!!

I.ve got to finish this Santa thing before Christmas.

Most people have mspaint.exe. If you do, you can open the .bmp and "Save As
...." a .jpg.

Use your image-processing software... Carol's answer is correct if you use
that software, but not everyone does.
