How do you change the default font for a Word document

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Every time I open a Word document, I get a font I do not like. How do I change the default font, so that I will have the font I do like whenever I open a file?

Click on Format>Font, select the font you would like to use, then click on
the Default button in the lower left corner.
