wrong font

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel when i choose a font from the list, another font will appear in the document. anyone recognize this issue?

Could it be that the font you selected doesn't support the characters you are typing? For example, you could be typing latin characters while the style only supports cyrillic characters. In such a case, Word tends to switch to another font which supports the characters you want.

Yep. Usually means you have not re-started the Mac for a while, so Word has
not been able to re-build its font cache. Try that.

Also: Ensure that Word is updated to version 12.2.3. And Mac OS X is
updated to OS 10.5.8.
