Please use this big white space to provide details about your
problem.

To close a dialog box, click on the Close button, or click on the
X at the upper right corner of the dialog box.

If you're getting a "command cannot be performed because a dialog
box is open" error message, and if you're using Symantec/Norton
AntiVirus, then try disabling the Office Plugin that comes with
it. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use
Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for
more information.

I am receiving a "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is
opened" error message when I try to open a file in Word 2003. I have
reviewed
kbtshoot KB891986 and do not have an officeav.dll file.
Please help.
Thank you

Additional
The message also has a 'Windows Installer' box behind it saying is 'Peparing
to install'. I click 'OK' to the first box and 'Cancel' to the second but I
cannot open the Word document.
