I notice thatmy webclippings.one file is 27Mb, but I have NOTHING in that
section anymore. How does one compact/compress .one file?

Thanks so much. This is really buried. One would have thought it would be
part of the notebook are. Kind of like how you can compress storage in
Outlook Express or Outlook through somehting in the properties.

It optimizes periodically on its own - this is just the option for manually
invoking the process.

That seems to be by design - ON takes care of this task periodically for
you. 27MB is tiny these days compared to the average HD size, and ON can
handle files of that size. There's nothing for the user to manage, so the
feature is placed out of sight ;)

Anyone know what the typical compression gains are ? This 27 Meg .one
file ... what will it be when optomized ?

That would depend on what was deleted and what is still left in the file.
It's not really compression it's more like compaction and whitespace
removal.

I have a single .one file which I carry on my portable HDD and I work on it
from various PC. The auto optimize doesn't seemed to work for it. Despite
me deleting most of its pages, it retained it size. I was thinking of
recreating a new .one file but luckily I found this topic. :)
