How do you correct a line that stretches in a justified paragraph

This a paragraph in my document where the last line stretches out to the end
but there are only a few words in the sentence. How would I correct this. I
tried highlighting the line and changing justify to align left but this did
not work. I changed the entire paragraph to align left. I am using Word
2003.

If the line is justified it's because it ends in a line break rather than a
paragraph break. Display nonprinting characters (Ctrl+*) to check.
