how do you define confrontation

I need information on what confrontation is?
what is the appropriate way to confront an issue without using threats
without biases, hearing another explanation, letting others speak and you
listen.

One might consider asking a question in a completely inappropriate arena to
be confrontational.

How to confront an issue almost certainly depends on what the issue is - but
without threats, without bias, and with an open mind as you state is a
pretty good start.
