How do you get () around area code in outlook contacts automatica

I use to get automatic parenthesis around area code in phone numbers in
outlook contacts when entering. Now it has quite doing it and must be done
manually. Any help restoring would be appreciated

This is usually a sign that your Windows dialing properties are not set
correctly.
