How do you get rid of Vista and replace it with XP?

I do not like the new Office products and would like to replace them with
Office 2003...where can I get this as a new product? I am also very
frustrated by Vista (actually hate it...it keeps locking up on big downloads)
and wish to get rid of it. Any suggestions on how best to accomplish this
would be appreciated.

Office 2003 may be avilable at Amazon.com or other online stores
You would have to ensure your PC is compatible with WindowsXP ie drivers are
avilable, before purchasing a retail edition of winxp and clean installing
it.

Or you may care to post your *exact* problems to a Vista newsgroup

NaClmine, like you, I (and many others) didn't like the "Ribbon" UI Office
2007 apps sported. After using the trial edition for a few weeks, I removed
Office 2007 completely and re-installed Office 2003.

In the meantime, I also tried out OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) and Zoho
(www.zoho.com). The former is a full-scale office apps suite and can be
downloaded at no charge. The latter is a full suite of web-based apps and is
free for personal use. I liked the UI of both these a sight more than the
Office 2007 UI. You may want to try out these two non-MS alternatives.

Re Vista, if you open the Control Panel, click on taskbar & Menus and then
select the Start Menu tab, you can select the "Classic Start Menu" option.
That makes your Start Menu pretty much look like the XP version. However, I
haven't yet found a way of getting rid of that "jewel" button and replacing
it with the "Start" button (like XP).

HTH!
