How do you hide the Outlook icon on your desktop?

Since I have Outlook on my start menu and on my Quick Launch toolbar, I don't
need it on my desktop. How do I remove it?

Windows XP/Outlook 2007.

right click and delete or rt click on your desktop and pesonalise and
add/remove icons from menu on lt.

The Outlook icon on the desktop is usually not a typical shortcut and trying
to delete it as Jon suggests can affect Control Panel. Instead, see this:

Oops. I did as Jon suggested and I did get a prompt that "if I wish to put
it back on my desktop, go to the control panel." Hopefully, I won't run into
any problems. If I do, I'll be sure to keep your note below on file.
