How do you kern in PowerPoint?

The reason you cant find it is unfortunately simple - You cant do it!

The standard text doesn't do it. However, you can do it with Word Art.

Put a word art object on your slide. Double click it and fire up the tool
box. From there, kern away...

Actually you can make all sorts of changes. (Kerning, Leading, Etc.)

You could also kern in Word without using WordArt (format menu, font command,
character spacing tab); then do a print screen (PrtSc button) and paste into
a slide, then use the cropping tool from the picture toolbar to reduce the
image and perhaps set the background to transparent.
