How do you make a color richer other than lighter/darker?

I have placed a photo on a PowerPoint slide, but the color of the photo
doesn't look natural. Is there anyway to enhance the color?

No, there's just the lighter/darker contrast stuff. For more than that,
you'll need to edit in an image editing application.

But, is PPT distorting the color from the original image file? That can be
due to color profiles on your system.
