Hi,
My computer crashed 4 weeks ago(lightning strike). My
hard drive was fried. Because I had alot of info and data
I need from my old hard drive I hired a company to
recover the data.
This company was able to copy 100% of the hard drive to a
new external Hard drive. The total recoverycost was $700
but it include a 120GB external drive.
I've been able to get almost every thing I need off my
external except my email files. I've found then at the
following path.
documents and settings/owner/local settings/application
data/identities/{long string of numbers}
When I open the folder there are dbx files that contain
my emails I saved to personal folders in outlook. I can't
read them. These dbx files have all the email as 1 item.
amd individual emails I saved can't be seen.
I know these are the saved emails because of file names
and size. I tried coping one of these to the
corresponding file on my hard drive to see if it would
open that way with no success. It doesn't even show up as
a file in outlook as the others on the hard drive do.
Does any one know how I can recover these emails? I
really do need them if I can get them to view.
email me ASAP
