How do you overlay text on a mpeg and keep mpeg moving

I am using powerpoint 2002. I am trying to place a mpeg in a slide and then
have words appear over the moving mpeg. Problem - slide stops moving to get
words to appear or words do not appear when mpeg is running. How can I get
mpeg to run and words to appear on the slide

What kind of settings do you have on the text animation? Are they set to
start "after previous"?

What software do you use? PowerPoint2DVD has worked well for me. I have
never come across this problem as you said. If possible try this and
hopefully it helps!
Good luck!

Movies (like mpegs) are not played by PowerPoint. It is like they are
played in a frameless window that is displayed on top of the PowerPoint
Show. Therefore, text can never be shown over top of the playing movie
(since PowerPoint is behind the playing movie).

There is some Worship software that offers this feature, but I do not recall
their names off the top of my head. I would be very, very leery of trying
to use this because it will almost always make any non-huge unreadable.
