How do you replace a picture that has animation w/o losing animati

I need to have several slides that have the same outline topic but different
pictures associated with each one. Each picture will have the same animation,
but with different pictures. The animation is complex utilizing "Expand" for
x period of time, a "motion" function, and a "fade" exit function. Each
picture is in the middle of a slide with animation on both sides of it.
Removing a picture on a copied slide to replace with a differenct picture
messes up all other animation.

I would like to be able to click the picture and replace with a different
file. I am using Windows XP Professional with Power Point 2003 (SP2)

You could try the following manual method:
1. Save a html.
2. Locate the image in the output folder.
3. Replace it with the new image ensuring that the name of the file remains
the same.
4. Open the html file in PowerPoint and save it as PPT.

Another option:

Draw an object...shape of your choice....and fill it with a picture.
After you set the animations copy and paste the object where needed
and replace the fill image.
