how do you save just a picture to a 3 1/2 floppy without saving m.

I'm tring to take pictures off of microsoft word and save just the picture to
a 3 1/2 floppy to save space. But it won't allow me to. I tried to break the
links between them like the help menu told me, but the links command under
edit was dimmed and I can't figure out how to change it.
