How do you stop avi from "rewinding"?

We prepared a presentation in PowerPoint 2002 with avi animation and
it looked great. PowerPoint 2003 (PC) causes the avi files to
"rewind", regardless of the rewind settings. Has anyone discovered a
fix for this?
