How do you tell what font file name is in use for a Word Document?

My boss uses Optima font and he wants to move it to his new computer as his
default font. It is not a true type font, so I can't embed it. There is no
obvious file like optima.fon or supplier words (Allied, Linotype etc) in
Windows/font folder, so how can I find the file?
Other than searching each font file for the word optima, is there a way of
telling what files word has open?

Optima font is a Linotype font. Linotype does sell True Type Optima fonts.

This might explain why, after setting the 'embed true type fonts' on,
eventually a document copied to the target computer carried them across.

Maybe. I looked up "embed true type fonts" in Word 2003 Help. The
description, as I read it, does not imply that embed font is installed on
the another computer for use in other documents. Companies like Linotype
frequently has license restrictions on how may computers a purchased font
can be installed.
