how do you uncompress a photo that has been compressed?

I have compressed some photos to send via email, now I cant get them back to
its original, how do I fix that?

Reload a copy from the location where you saved the backup copy of your
priceless/irreplacable picture. If you altered the only copy, then all
you have is the altered version.
