Hi Melissa,

If you're not able to uninstall MS Office 2000 SR1 through Add/Remove programs in the Windows control panel then the steps in this
article may be helpful.

If you're using MS Windows 2000 or MS Windows XP follow the Windows 2000 links in the article.

Hi Jim,

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel to see if you have any 2000 series Office products still in use where you
don't have an Office XP or Office 2003 equivalent installed. Office 2000 had the most features/applets of the three series.

other than the 2003 office package the only other MS office related are front
page and visio, both 2002. I don't see any 2000 except the sr 1
still have my original 200 discs if ever needed.

any other thoughts? any reason to hold on.

Hi Jim,

If you are satisfied with the installed software from the 2002/XP and 2003 Office product series, then no, there isn't any reason
not to uninstall the Office 2000 product. Do keep the CDs though if either your Office XP or Office 2003 were upgrade editions so
you'll always have a 'qualifying product' for Office upgrade installations/reinstallations.

Note that when you uninstall an older copy you will sometimes need to do a repair on the newer ones after that.
